At our inception in 1991, ALPCO distributed one product in the United States. Within a decade of our founding, we partnered with more than 40 manufacturers and grew our distribution network throughout North America. Since then, ALPCO has solidified a place in the domestic and international markets not only as a distributor, but also as a developer and manufacturer of immunoassays. In 2004 we expanded with the advent of our Research and Development division, and within three years launched our first line of organically developed enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits for insulin. To date, ALPCO has 25 internally developed ELISA assay kits on the market and several products under development that will be released in the coming years to meet the growing demand of researchers in multiple disciplines.
In addition to providing customers with quality products and superb product support, a personal goal that we have set for ourselves is to fully support our customers in their research endeavors. Whether that means working with them in their labs to troubleshoot an assay, or collaborating with them to generate an assay tool that fits their needs, we put our customers first. This dedication has resulted in strong relationships with key opinion leaders in numerous fields of interest and publications in various journals. We support many major organizations around the world, including the American Association of Clinical Chemistry and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes, as well as regional organizations like the Midwest Islet Club and the Boston Ithaca Islet Club.
