ELITech’s advanced approach to slide staining puts an end to costly and messy procedures. Microprocessor control and user-programmability bring substantial savings in time and reagent consumption. Since stain is never reused, cross-contamination of specimens is not possible.
ELITech’s Aerospray Stat (aqueous-based) or Pro (methanol-based) are excellent choices for peripheral blood smears, bone marrow, and other body fluids. The Aerospray fixes, stains and dries up to 12 high quality slides in about 4 minutes with little or no debris or precipitation.

The Cytopad® snaps quickly between the chamber and the frame. This guarantees that the pad is always correctly aligned with the sample tunnel. No fumbling and no cell loss due to poor alignment.
Patented Flow Control Ring
The Cytopad features a controlled compression ring around the sample hole. This controls the rate of absorption and allows compensation for the lot-to-lot variations in paper quality for more consistent results.
Dual Sample Ports (single chamber only)
Two ports, one in the sample well and one in the tunnel, provide sample treatment versatility, allowing you to introduce pre-wetting fluids and making in situ fixation easy and reliable.
You can load samples directly through the chamber caps to prevent spilling of hazardous samples. Caps provide added safety to the operator.

How the Chamber Works
1. The cell suspension is pipetted into the sample well or the tunnel.
2. As the rotor starts spinning, centrifugal force moves the suspension towards the slide.
3. Cells sediment onto the slide as the Cytopad absorbs the suspension medium.
Versatility is one of Cytopro’s major strengths. The system satisfies a wide variety of sample treatment requirements.
Choice of Absorption Pads
Cytopads come in two absorption speeds that are color-coded for ease of use. The white pad is for faster absorption of thick or debris-filled suspension fluids. The tan pad is for slower absorption of thin fluids such as cerebral spinal fluid (CSF). Where slower flow enhances cell recovery.
ELITech’s unique Cytopro chambers are competitively priced for disposal after use or they can be reused after suitable cleaning. The choice is yours.
The tunnel port accepts saline or other fluids to pre-wet the absorption pad at the beginning of a cycle. This exclusive patented feature significantly improves cell recovery.
In Situ Fixation
A common problem with Papanicolaou staining is air-drying of the sample cells. In situ fixation during the cytocentrifugation cycle is the most effective way to prevent this problem.
In situ fixation with Cytopro is very simple. Load a few drops of sample into the tunnel port, then load fixative into the sample well. As the rotor accelerates, the cells are fixed after they sediment onto the slide.

Why Vapor pressure?
The Vapro method determines osmolality at room temperature with the sample in natural equilibrium. This precludes cryoscopic artifacts due to high viscosity, suspended particles or other conditions that can interfere with freezing point determinations, giving Vapro a much broader range of error-free applications.
Self-Cleaning Thermocouple and Easy Calibration
With the Vapro osmometer, say goodbye to intricate manual cleaning procedures. Vapro software monitors thermocouple cleanliness and the automatic Clean Cycle cleans the thermocouple when needed. The Vapro is self-calibrating and exceptionally stable. Calibration is verified using osmolality standards. How it Works
In most solutions, changes in concentration are accompanied by linear and proportional changes in the cardinal colligative properties of the solvent-vapor pressure, freezing point and boiling point. Measuring any of these properties provides an indirect indication of osmolality, but among them, only vapor pressure can be determined without a forced change in the sample’s physical state.
In the Vapro osmometer, vapor pressure is determined thermometrically by a fine wire thermocouple suspended in a small vapor space above the specimen in a sealed sample chamber. During a measurement cycle, the thermocouple undergoes a series of microprocessor-controlled temperature changes.
